01

Accurate returns

Returns built from reconciled, VAT-coded books, not spreadsheets.

02

Recover input VAT

Every eligible input tax claim captured and documented.

03

No missed deadlines

Quarterly returns prepared from the ledger and filed before the 28th.

04

Audit-ready invoices

Tax invoices and records that satisfy an FTA review.

01Registration and the first return

Once registered you receive a Tax Registration Number and a tax period, usually quarterly. From that date every taxable sale must carry 5% VAT on a compliant tax invoice, and your first return covers the period from your effective date of registration.

02What goes in a VAT return

The return reports output tax on sales by emirate, reverse-charge imports, zero-rated and exempt supplies, and input tax recovered on purchases. The difference is paid to the FTA, or carried forward or refunded if input tax is higher.

Because our bookkeeping codes every transaction with its VAT treatment as it is recorded, the return is a report from the ledger, not a spreadsheet exercise at the deadline.

03Common mistakes we fix

Claiming input tax on blocked items such as most entertainment, recovering VAT without a valid tax invoice, missing the reverse charge on imported services, and treating exempt supplies as zero-rated. Each of these is a penalty waiting to happen, and each is caught by a monthly review.

  1. 1

    Assess

We check your thresholds, supplies and imports and decide whether and when to register.

  2. 2

    Register

We prepare and submit the application with the supporting documents the FTA expects.

  3. 3

    Code monthly

Every transaction is recorded with the right VAT treatment and reconciled to the bank.

  4. 4

    File

We prepare the return, send it for your approval and file before the 28th-day deadline.

Mandatory registration applies when taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 in the past 12 months or are expected to in the next 30 days. Voluntary registration is available above AED 187,500.
